Doctor Says Minecraft Games Help Kids With Autism

autism2“Block-building game Minecraft helps children with autism improve their ability to interact. Autism is a mental condition, present from early childhood, that affects social interaction, communication, interests and behaviour. Dr. Randy Kulman, from LearningWorks for Kids, says Minecraft, which has sold over 50 million copies, can help with the condition. He interviewed a number of kids affected by autism on what they love most about the sandbox construction game:

One of the things the kids loved most was the fact that in Minecraft there are no rules, you’re free to do anything you want, whenever you want. This is interesting considering kids affected by Autism generally prefer rules and knowing what to expect.
